The excellent Mac desktop blogging app MarsEdit has landed with version 5.0 and some timely new features. MarsEdit 5 comes almost exactly five years after the last major version dropped, and it includes a modernized icon to match the rest of your Mac dock. It works with with most blog services including WordPress, Blogger, Drupal, Movable Type, TypePad, and many others.

The tool comes with support for both text files and photos, allowing the users to create or update their blogs in a simple way. The key feature of this application is that the users don’t need to be familiarized with programming languages or complicated web applications, but allows the users to input their texts and photos, which will be quickly uploaded by the piece of software. The Media menu will open another window that allows the users to upload pictures from their Mac on blogs or Flickr.
